Models
The chat models available to you in oryelle depend on how your administrators have configured your instance. Your administrator selects and configures which models you can access based on your organization's needs and requirements.
Different models have different strengths and capabilities. Some models process requests quickly but have more limited knowledge, while others might be slower but excel at specific tasks like programming or complex reasoning. You can explore your available models in the Library section, where you'll find a list of all accessible models along with information about plugin support and detailed descriptions of their capabilities.
Choosing a Model
There are two main ways to select which model you want to use. The first is through the dropdown menu when starting a new conversation, which lets you pick a model for that specific chat. The second option is to set a default model for an entire folder, which will automatically apply to all new conversations created within that folder.
Models in oryelle are categorized as either "Local" or "Cloud" by your administrators. Local models usually run on your organization's own infrastructure, providing enhanced security and data privacy. Cloud models usually operate on external infrastructure, which may be suitable for less sensitive data.
This categorization helps you:
- Make informed decisions about data sharing
- Follow organizational security policies
- Choose appropriate models for different use cases
For example, you might use:
- Local models for sensitive internal data
- Cloud models for general queries and public information
Your administrator configures these categories based on your organization's security requirements and infrastructure setup. Always check a model's category before sharing sensitive information.
Always consult your administrators to understand:
- The specific differences between "Local" and "Cloud" models in your organization
- Your organization's data sharing policies and which data types can be used with each model category
- Any additional security requirements or restrictions that may apply
The categorization guidance provided here represents general best practices, but your organization may have different requirements or policies in place.
Getting Started with Models
Before you can begin using a model, it may require some configuration through what we call "requirements". These requirements can be configured either by you as a user or by your organization's administrators, depending on the specific settings.
To configure a model's requirements:
- Navigate to Settings
- Select the model you want to use
- Look for available requirements at the bottom
- Configure the requirements you have access to
It's important to note that some models may require administrator setup before they become available for use. If you can't access a particular model, you may need to contact your administrator to ensure it's properly configured for your use.
